The girls and I were driving around Harbor Springs today and we spotted "The Blue Moon". You can actually see this yacht from anywhere in Harbor Springs. It is a 198' Feadship from the Cayman Islands. If you look closely in the side view, you will notice a 25' Chris Craft. I also saw a 30' Riva yacht tender tied up to the back of the boat. The marina is full of 60, 80 even 100 footers right now but they all look puny compared to this one.

Today the kids and I went to Fort Michilamackinac in Mackinaw City. Yes, "Mackinac" the fort and the bridge are spelled with a "C" and the city and island are spelled with a "W" for all of you out-of-staters. I hadn't been there in twenty years so it was fun to see what is new. After the fort, we drove around Mackinaw City and took some pics. The first picture is the kids at one of the lookout posts in the fort. The second is the Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw and an Arnold Line Mackinaw Island Ferry. They are both docked in Lake Huron, on the east side of Mackinaw City. Lake Michigan is on the west side. I found this site, check it out. http://www.mackinacbridge.org/

This weekend the Careys went to Sault Saint Marie (pronounced "Soo" for all of you out of Michigan-ers). It rained all day but we did get to look at some sites. We took a tour of a retired steamship called the "Valley Camp" and then we went on a boat tour of the Sault Locks. The ship in the picture has just come through the locks as we were going in. The enormous building is a hydro-electric power plant built in 1902. It is the longest plant of that type in the world. I took this picture from the "Tower of History". The power plant is a really cool old building.

It's been too long since I've posted. A couple weeks ago Jeremiah and I went with some friends to the Henry Ford Museum. One of my favorite places in the world. I told Jeremiah in a perfect world I would work at Henry Ford and live in Greenfield Village. The pictures are of a Continental and a Duesenberg. Two of my favorites. I could put up an entire site of just my favorite cars. Maybe I will.
